Incidents during the race: penalties and so on

Darío Dandeu is out

He tried every hour, but it wasn’t possible.
He finally had to retire from the race because the pain in his foot was too much to bear.

Let us tell you that his final action on the race was to land close to another pilot that landed on a tree (without any special incident for him).

Anyway, congratulations on your efforts, and we hope to see you here in 2024.

Day 3 – Maxime Pinot retires

Two-times runner-up of the X-Pyr and race favourite for this edition has retired with knee problems. Maxime nearly won in 2022, but was pipped to the post on the last section of the course when he was overtaken my Swiss champion Chrigel Maurer.

Maxime came to the race with a brand new, made-to-measure harness, Neo’s Moonlight. This harness has been seen for one of the first times at the X-Pyr in 2024. and was a submarine-style harness that weighs an incredible 1.5 kg.

Not only is Maxime the World and European Champion, he is an ace hike & fly pilot. We are gutted to see him leaving the race, but wish him a swift recovery and that he comes back the next edition fit, well and ready to go!

Nicola Heiniger is out of the race

Due to an untimely illness, Swiss rider Nicola Heiniger has decided to withdraw from the race.

He fell ill on Friday afternoon. He had hoped to feel better, but it was impossible.
He doesn’t think he will be able to reach the flying zone tomorrow, so, as he says himself:

See you in 2 years“.

You can watch him explain the situation on our social networks

Without them, the X-Pyr wouldn't exist.

Our thanks to:
