1) The organisation would like to acknowledge a mistake in the application of the penalty awarded to Christian Schugg on the 26th of June. We will therefore change the scoring to award him the goal, but subtract a six-hour penalty from his time.

2) Guillermo Monroset, flew into the forbidden 6S zone. He will receive a 14-hour penalty (one day penalty) and his score will be changed to reflect this.

We apologise to the pilots for this late change, which was caused by a failure of the double track validation system. Although it is unusual to make changes after the prize-giving ceremony, we believe it is only fair to ensure that all pilots are scored correctly.

After analysing the track and establishing that the pilot was flying in a forbidden zone, and taking into account that it was really close to the limit, the jury has reached this decision:
According to rule 6.2, the pilot is to be given a penalty of 6 hours for flying in a forbidden zone.
As the pilot reached the TP7-Santa Helena (End Speed Section) we cannot apply the rule adding 6 hours to the rest time.
So applying the rule 5.16, the pilot will be ranked according to his location backtracked by the remaining time.


Antoine Franc and Sebastien Franc withdraw

Antoine and Sebastien Franc’s team has withdrawn from the race. Yesterday was a difficult day for Antoine, involving a parachute incident, and they have decided not to continue today. We are relieved to know that the mishap didn’t escalate and that he is doing well. We are very sorry to see them leave and wish them all the best.

Jean de Biolley and Antoine Post have withdrawn

The Belgian team, Jean de Biolley and Antoine Post, have withdrawn from the race.

Jean had a tough landing yesterday. He wasn’t injured, but after visiting the hospital for a check-up, the team decided to withdraw from the race.

It was a tough decision, but undoubtedly the correct one.

We wish him a speedy recovery.

After analysing the track and establishing that the pilot was flying at an altitude above the permitted limit, the jury has reached this decision:
According to rule 6.2, the pilot is to be given a penalty of 6 hours (added to the mandatory rest time) for flying at a higher altitude than allowed (including the tolerance).

David Chen

According to rule 5.16, the pilots have to add the penalty time to the mandatory rest time on day 5 – 25th June.

Tomáš Matera and Tomáš Blazek have withdrawn

The conditions for this race have been brutal – in fact, tougher than we’ve ever seen before. After three very tough days, Tomáš Matera’s team has been forced to withdraw. We were delighted to see Tomáš back after the 2022 edition, which, it has to be said, couldn’t have been more different.

We wish Tomáš and Tomáš a speedy recovery after all that sun and sweat, and we hope to see them again in a future edition.

Fredi Tuset has to withdraw

It is with great dissappointment that we have to announce the withdrawal of Catalan pilot Fredi Tuset and his supporter Andreu Moreno. Living on the course line, he would have been flying home and beyond in the race. A niggling injury means he will not be able to stand on the start line. A long-time member of the Catalan Hike & Fly Team and League, he will be missed in the race. We wish him a fast recovery and best wishes.

Without them, the X-Pyr wouldn't exist.
