When and why did you start paragliding?
I started paragliding in 2019. At first, I simply wanted to fly down from the mountains, but very quickly I became fascinated by everything this sport makes possible. Every flight is different, and that feeling of freedom has never left me.
Why have you applied to participate in the X-Pyr?
I’ve never been to the Pyrenees before, and I love adventure. Experiencing such a challenge together with my team is something I truly look forward to.
Why are you attracted to hike & fly?
From the very beginning, the combination of hiking and flying has been my greatest passion in this sport. I love endurance challenges, and combining physical effort with the reward of flying is simply amazing.
What is your greatest sporting success (flying or not flying)?
Crossing the Alps with my bike and flying from Mont Blanc 🙂
What excites you most about participating in the X-Pyr?
The adventure. Pushing limits, adapting to the mountains, and living fully in the moment.
What is your best result in a H&F competition so far?
Dolomiti Superfly second woman
Have you flown in the Pyrenees before? Do you have a favourite area?
Not till now 🙂
What does your typical training week consist of?
Depending on what my trainer plans for me 🙂 currently about 10-12 hours of endurance training. Spring is arriving so lots of flying soon.
What worries you the most about the event?
I hope for good flying weather 🙂
Personally, how do you feel differently when you participate in H & F races in comparison to XC competitions?
XC competitions usually last some hours – while Hike & Fly races go from early morning until late at night — and over several days. They are much more demanding, not only physically but also mentally and in the air. You have to be at 100% the whole time. In XC competitions, you often fly with many other pilots, whereas in Hike & Fly you are mostly on your own, making independent decisions in the mountains.
How do you know your supporter? And have your worked as athlete/supporter before?
I haven’t competed together with my supporter before, so this will be our first race as a team. That makes it an even bigger and more exciting adventure. We’re both motivated and ready to grow together through this experience.
What advice would you ask of the race veterans?
