When and why did you start paragliding?
I started paragliding at the age of 18 in Allevard in the French Alps. It was the desire to explore the mountains easily that gave me the urge to fly alone. But my father had something to do with it too.
Why have you applied to participate in the X-Pyr?
I started working in 2025, and since I could no longer fly, I started running. Then I thought, why not set myself a great goal for 2026?
Why are you attracted to hike & fly?
What I like most about race and fly is that the competition has a whole different dimension to cross-country. There’s the mental aspect, the physical aspect, and a large part of route planning. I find it to be the most complete and athletic discipline in paragliding.
What is your greatest sporting success (flying or not flying)?
There are many, but I would say that my record speed flights over 50-100 and 150 km FAI are my greatest achievements.
What excites you most about participating in the X-Pyr?
I get to rediscover a challenging mountain range surrounded by an incredible team. And maybe surprise myself with what I’m capable of!
What is your best result in a H&F competition so far?
I often came close to achieving great results, but I often incurred minor penalties that prevented me from reaching the podium. However, I think my second place at the Belledone X-Plore 2025 was a great performance.
Have you flown in the Pyrenees before? Do you have a favourite area?
Yes, I have already flown in Cerdagne and around Val Louron. I really liked the area between Berga and Cerdagne.
What does your typical training week consist of?
I’m working like 40h per week.
What worries you the most about the event?
I work 40 hours a week and try to get between 10 and 15 hours of physical training in. And if possible, I do few hours of thermal flying during my lunch breaks. During the winter, I alternate between ski touring, skating, indoor running, and home trainer.
Personally, how do you feel differently when you participate in H & F races in comparison to XC competitions?
There are many twists and turns along the way, but it’s never over!
How do you know your supporter? And have your worked as athlete/supporter before?
I was one of Louis’ supporters when he competed in the last X-Pyr. But we’ve known each other since school in Annecy. Just like Théo.
What advice would you ask of the race veterans?
When did your legs or feet start to burn?
Anything else you like to comment?
I hope this edition of the X-Pyr will be exciting and full of twists and turns so that we athletes and you spectators can have a great time following the race.
