What is your greatest sporting success?
3. Place at Red Bull X-Alps 2021

When and why did you start paragliding?
I began paragliding in 2012, because I always wanted to fly. Paragliding is the most simple and natural way to get airborne. Honestly, I have never regretted this decision for a single second, as it was one of the best I’ve made in my entire life.

What is your mountaineering experience?
I have done several bivouac tours in the Austrian and Swiss Alps during summer and winter. In 2012, I climbed the summit of Stok Kangri (6125 m) with my brother after an eight day unsupported trekking tour through remote valleys in Jammu and Kashmir (India), we also did Mt. Blanc and flew down together. I am always looking for new adventures in order to get more experience.

What does your typical training week consist of?
I train 5 to 6 days a week. My training is always according to the weather, because I prefer training outside. The main parts are running, cycling, hike & fly, sport climbing and depending on the season, skitouring and swimming.

What are your best and worst sporting memories?
The last flight of the Red Bull X-Alps 2021 was very challenging and included some of the best and the worst memories.

Why did you choose the X-Pyr?
Because I love adventures and want to explore this beautiful area.

Have you participated in the X-Pyr before? How was it?

Have you flown in the Pyrenees before? What do you think about them?
No, I think it’s a very challenging area to fly because of strong winds and very limited options for support. I have a lot of respect flying in the Pyrenees and I will try to prepare for the difficulties as good as possible.

What will your strategy be during the race?
My strategy is to keep calm in every situation and to focus on the right task at the right moment, which is not always as easy as it sounds during this race.

What excites you most about the X-Pyr?
The rural remoteness.

What scares you the most about the event?
To get stuck in a valley without any possibility of taking off.

Why will he/she make a good assistant?
My team knows me very well and also loves the adventure as I do.

Anything else you like to comment?
I´m really looking forward to this event and would like to thank the whole X-Pyr-Team for making this race happen.

Without these guys we would not have the race.
