Why did you choose the X-Pyr again?
It is probably the most interesting hike & fly race of this year and it is a great adventure.

How was your race the last time?
Actually very good. It was in year 2018. I had a slower first two days, then I was able to have two great flights and at the end I finished third place.

What did you learn during the last edition?
That I have to fly smarter and better …

What does your typical training week consist of?
Has your training regime changed since the last X-Pyr?

It has changed very much, because I have two kids and a family. I go once or twice a week running, sometimes bike or ski… I try to fly here in the Czech Republic when the weather is ok and when I can quit work.

What changes have you made to your equipment for this edition?
Probably no changes at all. I will have same glider. Maybe I will get a new harness.

Apart from flying far and walking little, what will your strategy be during the race?
Stay in the air as long as possible and stay calm.

What excites you most about participating in the X-Pyr again?
Adventure, fun, flying. I keep my fingers crossed for good weather :-).

What worries you the most about the event?
Bad weather, strong wind and snakes 🙂

Is there anything you like to see (or not) in the route?
I wish to keep the route simple and relatively short without mandatory landings etc. I think it is not necessary to make it longer and longer. I wish more teams can finish and get to goal.

Do you have a favourite part of the Pyrenees?
Yes, definitely places where I was able to fly in last editions. Mainly from Orhi to the south. Then an interesting place is Vulturó.

How do you know your assistant?
He is my colleague in the office. He is precise, always in a good mood and also a good driver. He started paragliding 2-3 years ago.

What are your assistant’s main strengths?
Passion, preparation, good mood.

What advice would you give a rookie in this event?
Fly south.

Without them, the X-Pyr wouldn't exist.
