What is your greatest sporting success?
Probably my first win as the Belgian Paragliding Champion.
When and why did you start paragliding?
I started in 2011. Since I was born, I’ve been living under one of the most used flying spots in Belgium. Looking at all these wings gave me the virus.
What is your mountaineering experience?
All the big belgian summits 😉
I’ve spent lots of time in the Alps, especially in France. And so I’ve been playing a lot in the French mountains.
What does your typical training week consist of?
Running 5 Times a week, flying as much as possible, hiking a bit everyday.
What are your best and worst sporting memories?
My best? My first flight, my first 100 kms, my personnal best distance in Belgium, lot’s of shared flights with Friends.
But also all the goal lines crossed with success in competition. The podiums shared with Friends.
My worst memories?
Some missed flights, some mistakes that cost me some titles.
Fortunately, they are really less present than the good memories.
Why did you choose the X-Pyr?
Because of the challenge of crossing a difficult terrain with some of the best pilots in the worlds.
Have you participated in the X-Pyr before? How was it?
Have you flown in the Pyrenees before? What do you think about them?
Yes, a few Times. Lots of small valleys, difficult to fly and to “read”.
What will your strategy be during the race?
Being ready to push my limits, stay focussed on the goal and never stop going further!
What excites you most about the X-Pyr?
Flying and hiking in that beautiful scenary. Fighting against myself.
What scares you the most about the event?
Why will he/she make a good assistant?
Because he knows me perfectly and because of his “always positive” mindset.
Anything else you like to comment?
Can’t wait to be on the beach the 26!
