What do you like about the X-Pyr that keeps you coming back for more?
Flying over the Pyrenees, challenges and good organisation.
How is the X-Pyr different from other H&F competitions you have taken part in?
Spontaneous decisions and last moment adaptation.
How was your race in your previous edition(s)?
Every edition was a challenge and I’m happy to be back.
What was the best thing that happened to you in your last X-Pyr?
Being inspired and to succesfully finish the route.
What was the worst thing that happened to you in your last X-Pyr?
Not so inspired decision to take the south route, which changed the final outcome.
What did you learn during the previous edition(s)?
To be patient.
If you could have input into the route, what would you suggest to the organisation?
Organisation has been creative about the route and I wouldn’t make any suggestions.
What changes have you made to your equipment for this edition?
Not any major changes. Still comitted to the Advance equipment.
Apart from flying far and walking little, what will your strategy be during the race?
Beeing more careful and aware about forecast to not miss any chance to fly.
What three pieces of advice would you give to Rookies in the race?
Patience, self awareness, safety in the air.
What about your training? How many hours do you fly a year?
Ski touring douring the winter. My home is my take-of areaand I don’t miss any opportunity.
How do you know your supporter? And have you worked as athlete/supporter before?
The paragliding community is large, we are on our first collaboration.
