What do you like about the X-Pyr that keeps you coming back for more?
Pure experience or wilderness across one of the most beautiful regions of France and Spain. Competition with the best H & F athletes and for sure, the Spanish ham.
How is the X-Pyr different from other H&F competitions you have taken part in?
More challenging because walking the Pyrenees is tricky, so the more you fly the better. Some technical flights as well, the weather and the challenge.
How was your race in your previous edition(s)?
Amazing, flying a lot, so I almost never walked.
What was the best thing that happened to you in your last X-Pyr?
A 200 km flight over the Spain and France border.
What was the worst thing that happened to you in your last X-Pyr?
Walking the last 100 km, I guess.
What did you learn during the previous edition(s)?
Morning glides and Spanish side are the keys.
If you could have input into the route, what would you suggest to the organisation?
Explore more the Spanish side.
What changes have you made to your equipment for this edition?
Nothing, I get the best gear.
Apart from flying far and walking little, what will your strategy be during the race?
Morning glides.
What three pieces of advice would you give to Rookies in the race?
Take your time, even if you need to top land and wait for the sun to appear again.
What about your training? How many hours do you fly a year?
As much as possible.
How do you know your supporter? And have you worked as athlete/supporter before?
We are close close friends. He’s a beast of tactical flying and he does the best Paupiette of the world.
