When and why did you start paragliding?
I started in 2002, when I was 17, after two years of ground training because my parents didn’t want me to fly. Years later, I thanked them when I realised it was probably one of the best learning experiences I could have had.
Why have you applied to participate in the X-Pyr?
To live an amazing adventure, discover the Pyrenees, and share it with the team because yes, it’s a true team sport.
Why are you attracted to hike & fly?
I’ve always dreamed of being a bird. It’s the best way to move in the mountain. It’s true freedom even during a race.
What is your greatest sporting success (flying or not flying)?
My definition of sporting success is to enjoy the playground as much as possible no matter the tool. I’ve had the chance to learn a lot of different sports. I try to keep doing most of them as long as possible to be able to enjoy the best playground depending the weather and the season. This is the terrain that chooses the sport to enjoy.
What excites you most about participating in the X-Pyr?
To live a true adventure in a wild terrain.
What is your best result in a H&F competition so far?
5th place in the Bornes To Fly 2019.
Have you flown in the Pyrenees before? Do you have a favourite area?
I flew in the range a little during the 2024 edition of the X-Pyr, but I still have a lot to discover. Maybe I will have a favourite place after the race, I’ll tell you.
What does your typical training week consist of?
I train 5 to 7 times a week with a mix of sport, running, trail, cycling, hiking and flying as much as possible. I try to relax the body, and eat well (but it’s the hardest part)
What worries you the most about the event?
Between the rain and the strong wind, I hesitate !
Personally, how do you feel differently when you participate in H & F races in comparison to XC competitions?
I only do H & F races, but i think it’s a very different game. You always have to think one a two moves in advance, flying but also hiking. The big things must be that in a H & F race, sometimes it’s good to wait a little to have the right timing, on the ground or in the air.
How do you know your supporter? And have your worked as athlete/supporter before?
We are brothers. And yes we did some races together, both flying or as a team.
What advice would you ask of the race veterans?
France or Spain, which one is the best way ?
Anything else you like to comment?
I love flying and running with music. So please share some music here https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2VhLB8i3ZtQKcoIGyPFJAH?si=63d138734f854698
I will have some time to enjoy everything during the race 😉
