TEAMS

50 teams from 20 countries!

This year we have a record-breaking selection… 50 teams, 5 female athletes and 20 countries represented.

The teams have been selected for the 2026 edition of the X-Pyr. Twenty veterans and 30 rookies will battle their way along the Pyrenees to reach the goal at el Port de la Selva.

A large number of local pilots should make the race especially interesting, as they move into the area they know best and fly most.

Athletes to watch are former World and European Champion Pierre Remy (FRA), last time’s rookie and second placed Christian Schugg (GER) and former winners Simon Oberrauner (AUT) and Chrigel Maurer (SUI). Additionally, some old friends of the race will also return. Standa Mayer (CZ), runner-up in 2016, who has got to goal in every edition he has participated in and “Running Man” Toma Coconea (RO) will be joining the race. Other veterans who made it to goal in the past include Gabriel Jansen (BRA), Nelson de Freyman (FR) , Benoît Brunet-Poirier (CAN), Davide Sassudeli (ITA), Jean de Bioley (BEL), Maël Baguet (FRA), Noé Court (SUI), Sebastian Weber (SUI) and Lenart Oblak (SLO). Can they do it again?

The rookies include several national champions, XC aces and pilots in the top 20 of the CIVL  World H & F ranking.

We look forward to meeting them all in June in Hondarribia!
