When and why did you start paragliding?
I started paragliding in 2020, mainly becaue I wanted to avoid all the descents from hiking, climbing and bad-snow-skitouring. So I was fully committed to hike&fly from the beginning. First I wasn’t really interested in cross-country flying, that changed during my first two years of flying.
Why have you applied to participate in the X-Pyr?
I’m always longing for new adventures and challenges, and I guess I found one in the X-Pyr 🙂
Why are you attracted to hike & fly?
I’ve been in love with hiking for over 12 years, when I moved into the Tyrolean mountains. When I started flying, I got immediately addicted with hike & fly. During hiking I can enjoy the effort it takes and can connect to the nature around me. The same applies for the flying part. On one hand a beautiful glide down can be the reward for exhausting uphills, on the other hand flying cross-country offers fully new perspectives and the connection to nature becomes even more important.
What is your greatest sporting success (flying or not flying)?
In the last three years I participated in a lot of hike & fly competitions with the Dolomiti Super Fly in 2024 being the biggest one so far. Flying into goal (even if I was 15min late) was a huge success for me. I also did some nice alpine hike & flys which I would also consider as sporting success.
What excites you most about participating in the X-Pyr?
Discovering areas where I’ve never been before.
Accepting the challenges this race brings.
Enjoying 6 days of adventure and full focus on me and my team.
Growing and learning.
What is your best result in a H&F competition so far?
Best woman in Dolomiti Super Fly 2024
First place (women) in the Wanderbird Hike & Fly Championship 2025
Have you flown in the Pyrenees before? Do you have a favourite area?
No
What does your typical training week consist of?
I try to train at least 8-10 hours a week.
Typically I focus on hiking, skitouring in winter, biking in summer and some running.
Additionally I train in the gym at least twice a week.
What worries you the most about the event?
No worries so far 🙂
Personally, how do you feel differently when you participate in H & F races in comparison to XC competitions?
I love the combination of the physical effort of the hiking part and the tactical challenges of the flying part so if I would have to choose between h & f races and XC competitions I’d always go for the h & f races.
How do you know your supporter? And have your worked as athlete/supporter before?
My fiancée is my main supporter and we’ve been a athlete-supporter-team since my first hike & fly competition in 2023. Since then he’s been supporting me in every single race.
What advice would you ask of the race veterans?
What they would do differently in this years X-Pyr.
